DOH!!! I did it again, waited and waited and now realise that I only have 11 days before Christmas and I still have not done an advent calendar for the kids. Once again, I'm going to rely on Jordan from http://polkadotprintsstudio.blogspot.com/ to bail me out. I used this exact free printable last year and it worked a treat. I got the kids to cut them out, helped stick them together and topped them up with our favourite favourites.
If you too need to whip something up real quick head over to the below link and grab yourself the free printable.

My Package Project Partner
Posted by
Lun@tic
I am so excited to be involved in Nadia's (http://www.lovecupcakecouture.co.za/) package project.
I received the contact details for my partner on Friday and allow me to introduce Ashley Grove. http://www.etsy.com/shop/fairviewpl
Here is a little about her, in her own words (yes I know I copied it from her etsy profile - thanks Ashley)
"My love for anything vintage started about the age of 11 when I toured thrift shops, flea markets, antique stores and my grandparents' house for hidden gems I could live without. The love has grown into an obsession; one which I've convinced myself must be shared with others.
Fairview Place can be found in the historical Norfolk, Virginia. The perfect mixture of just what Fairview Place represents, classic, beauty, distinct and chic." Pin It Now!

And another market, once which I've been assured is usually a HUGE success. Unlucky for me though is that I can’t personally be there, but my handsome and sweet talking man will be.

Japan Captured - Elle Decor
Posted by
Lun@tic
Things have been quiet from my side but I have a valid excuse......EXAM's.
Now that the studying is over I'd really like to share with everyone the amazing and humbling spread I saw in the Elle Decor mag. The jist and I'm not going to share all of the info, is an "article" of sort's on Japan before the destruction with a generous donation to assist in re-building this amazing country.
This initiative, driven by Liezel Strauss's "My Japan" project is truly inspiring.
Respect to all involved.

Another favourite - Patty Young
Posted by
Lun@tic
I really relate to Patty, in 2005 Patty left the corporate world to spend her time with her kiddies and follow her own creative adventures. Okay so maybe Patty is more like someone I wish I could be... Patty and her husband own MODKID LLC were they specialise in high quality boutique-style sewing patterns which include children's clothes, doll outfits, purses and other assorted accessories and home furnishings. But it's the fabric designs that I LOVE. Go and enjoy a little more about Patty at http://modkidboutique.com/about.html

My favourite designers - Heather Bailey
Posted by
Lun@tic
To be completely lost in the magical world of fabric and see first-hand the transition from yard/meter to dress is as exciting as being a child watching her first butterfly.
My next couple of posts are about my favourite fabourite designers (I love them all equally) and their latest fabric collections. Hopefully I'll get my hands on a couple of yards and turn them into gorgeous dresses.
Heather Bailey is an incredible designer with an eye for colour that is recognised world wide. She has her fingers on the tips of fabric, sewing patterns, paper craft supplies , stationery, picnicware. If you grab a mo, head on over to her website and indulge in a colour explosion. http://heatherbailey.typepad.com/ Pin It Now!

Ribbon Smoother
Posted by
Lun@tic
I received an e-mail from my sister Nikki who mentioned that this is something i just have to add to my blog.... This idea was spotted from Real Simple (which I don’t think is still in circulation in SA) but a clever idea non the less.
"If you’re like me and don’t like throwing ribbon away (years of pretty ribbons from holiday and birthday gifts over here), then you might have, say, a box full of gorgeous but wrinkly ribbon stashed away somewhere. I’ve thought about having an “iron my ribbon” afternoon, where I break out the iron and ironing board, but using a flat iron as a ribbon smoother would be so much easier"
